Elliot J. Katz, CPA

Elliot is one of the founding members of the firm and has over 40 years experience working with privately held companies, real estate entities, professional practices and high net worth individuals in the areas of tax planning, estate planning, tax compliance, and accounting and financial reporting.

Elliot graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Accounting. After spending five years with a large regional firm, he began to develop an accounting and tax practice, that in 1995, became Katz & Bloom, CPAs, LLC.

Laurence R. Bloom, CPA

Larry is one of the founding members of the firm and has over 20 years experience advising privately held companies, professional practices, investment partnerships and entrepreneurial people in all areas of taxation, accounting and auditing, business management and life style management.

Larry graduated from The American University, in Washington, D.C. with a Business Administration degree with concentrations in Accounting and Finance. He received his formal accounting training at a prestigious medium size accounting firm in New York City. After spending several years there, working in both the auditing and tax departments, in 1991 he joined forces with Elliot J. Katz. In 1995, they formed Katz & Bloom, CPAs, LLC.

Larry has served on the Estate and Personal Financial Planning committee and the Medical and Other Professionals committee of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a co-chairman of the Practice Continutiy Committee of the Nassau Chapter.

Richard M. Schon, CPA, MST

Rick has over 25 years of diverse experience in public accounting specializing in the areas of real estate development, manufacturing and closely held businesses with an emphasis on taxation, estate planning and wealth preservation. Rick also has handled matters regarding international taxation.

Rick has served on the State and Local Tax Committee as well as the Closely Held & S Corporation Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, of which he is a member. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Rick has lectured and performed as a discussion leader at State Society seminars. Rick is a volunteer in various civic activities. He joined the firm in 2003.

Rick received his BA in Accounting from Queens College (City University of New York) and his MS in Taxation from CW Post College (Long Island University).
